03.03.2007 - To ship
The Morning of our Caribbean Cruise After breakfast we decided to go to the pool, since we had plenty of time before our ship - Navigator of the Seas - was about to leave. After that we had one thing to do - To pack our luggage once again. Checking out from Hotel The Checkout went OK. They were about to charge for the safe in other of our rooms, but since we explained that it didn't work (Altrough we did ask them to fix it!), we got the safe charge waived. They charged $2 / day. We asked them to order a taxi for four of us with luggages, and that's just what they did - We got spacious taxi enough room for all our luggages. Arriving at Port of Miami It was asked that we shouldn't arrive at the Port until 1pm, so that they have plenty of time to get the ship ready for new passengers. Well - to be honest, we were a bit eager to get to the ship, so we were at royal caribbean terminal at around 12.30pm. At that time it took around 30 minutes with all security checks, before we were allowed to board the ship. The Ship - Navigator of the Seas When we first arrived to ship, we went out to check out our rooms - And as we had expected, the beds were left in "Queen Size"-mode instead of Two seperate beds. No problem, we just called our Stateroom attendant and when we next came back the beds were seperated. It was definitely a good choice to get a Stateroom with a balcony. Nice place to go watch the scenery without leaving your stateroom! Our staterooms were located on Deck 10, at front of the ship. We had plenty of time before the ship was about to leave the Port of Miami, so we had time to look around the ship and find out where everything is. Lifeboat Drill Before leaving the port, there was mandatory lifeboat drill. Surprisingly, we weren't allowed to use the nearest exit (!!) to our muster station. They just told us that it was for Crew Only. (The sign on our cabin door however told that the nearest exit is right across the hallway). Instead, we had to take the normal stairs. Hope they let use the "right" exit if there would be real emergency... But anyway - What's the point of the drill if you aren't allowed to go where you normally would go?! Dining We had chosen the main seating at 6:30pm. We were lucky enough to get "Mr. Bond" as our main waiter, and Dennis as our assistant waiter. Our table was for 8 people, and we were accompanied by a family from Canada. The food was generally good, no complaints there. Evening Show Tonight's show was the "Welcome Aboard Show". They had the Duo Ignatov (Russian Circus acts)performing that night. Also Comedian Jim David had short comedian show during the Welcome Aboard Show. The Royal Caribbean Singers & Dancers group also performed. The Show was Ok, and entertaining. The best part was probably the Jim David's comedy show. |
